I know that Summer of 2014 has just started but I wanted to put the word out about the Colorado Teardrops and Tiny Trailer Campers/Rocky Mountain Tearjerker's first annual "Elevation Celebration" in Colorado for the Summer of 2015. We're hoping to see as many of you as we can, both our Colorado and Rocky Mountain regulars and also any others who are adventurous enough to come to Colorado to enjoy our gorgeous summer time. We are still working on the exact location but our dates are set, they will be: Thursday, July 30th through Sunday, August 2nd.

Will it be close to rocky mountain NP? Hoping to be vacationing (road trip to some park for a week start on Friday the 1st after work)for Minnesota about that time. Please, PM me on place and I will see if I can be there.

Kenneth: Right now we're considering Wellington Lake, which is near Bailey, about 40 miles SW of Denver. Depending on the route that puts it ~ 80 - 100 miles from Rocky Mountain NP. We want to make sure we find a location that is both accessible and affordable, and has a lot of good recreation opportunities nearby.

If you joint our Facebook group (link is in my signature) you will get all the regular updates. My wife pretty much keeps that group running and posts updates when we have something to report.

As long as the dates don't conflict with the Bullard's Beach gathering ( fiberglass gathering just outside of Bandon Oregon ) you can count us in. Lee and Norma Senn, Twin Falls Idaho.

I have a couple good recommendations for a location, Horsetooth Reservoir west of Fort Collins, Co. This location will have a good mix of nature and accessibility, plus it's a stunningly beautiful location. It's an hour north of Denver. You can reserve campsites ahead of time, and it's about 45 minutes from Estes Park(RMNP). I also think finding a location in the Glenwood Springs area would make a great trip, but more expensive than Horsetooth. There's a lot of great things to do within 30-45 minutes of Glenwood Springs. There's a paved bike path in the canyon next to the river, with stunning scenery. There's the Glenwood Springs hot springs pool, there are AMAZING four wheeling trails right on the edge of town(Transfer trail is rated easy, is close to town, and is a spectacular OHV trail), it's close to Aspen and Vail, you can kayak the river right by town, in the summer the ski resorts take you to the top to mountain bike down, Maroon Bells mountain range is not too far away(most photographed place in Co). I would like to join for this trip, wherever you end up choosing. Thanks for planning it!

Martin, If you haven't already, please let Grant Whipp (Li'l Bear) know so he can add you to his teardrop gatherings page.
I imagine you can go to www.teardrops.net to do that.

Just wanted to put the word out that we've reserved our campsite for what we hope to be an annual event, the "Elevation Celebration" in Colorado. Here is the Facebook link:

https://www.facebook.com/events/668069963300184/

In case that link doesn't work, here are the details:

Dates: 7/30 - 8/2/15 (Thursday through Sunday.)

Location: Wellington Lake, CO. (About 11 miles East of Bailey, CO.)

Web site:

http://www.castlemountainrec.com/

If you want to, you can make your own reservations, there is information and a map at the web site. We are camping near the lake because we'll have our kayaks with us.

This is being put on by our facebook group, but all are invited. Right now we have a large campsite that we can share with a maximum of 5 other tears.

If you'd like to share our campsite, you can PM or email me through this page.

Come on out and enjoy the beautiful Colorado Summer!

Martin and Liz

I think most of the information is here in this thread, you can make reservations at the Castle Mountain rec web site but just to let you know, spaces are going fast. We'd love to see you there.

We did. I think we had about 20 people and 12 trailers total. It was a great time! I think Liz posted pictures of it over on Facebook where we're doing most of our stuff now.
