Is Anybody Else in South Central Freezing Their Fingers Off?

Postby Todah Tear » Thu Nov 30, 2006 1:53 pm

WOW, the winter storm really came with a blast - 28 degrees, but it feels like 15. I lost the feeling in my fingers this morning in the parking lot at work, trying to put a tarp over the front of my SUV so that I won't need a blow torch to melt ice after work.

Is anyone else freezing (bruuurrrr)?? As soon as the weather clears up, I may have to find a good cover for Todah Tear... I "needs" my garage back  !

If you are at home now, throw on a log for me!

BBRRRRRR!!!!! :snowstorm:

Yep, it's been blowing sleet and freezing rain, and now getting ready for heavy snow in the OKC area.... I think the wind chill right now is about 5.

Points north of OKC are slated to get 12" or more today ! I wish it was only snow here !

I'm north of Dallas and we had quite a few people call in who work Evening shift. The roads are wet, but as soon as the sun goes down, the weather is going to get its freeze on!

Be Safe, be slow, be patient out there when you are driving!!

WEATHER

Postby CPASPARKS » Thu Nov 30, 2006 3:23 pm

I am halfway between Fort Worth and OKC...it is snowing and the wind is blowing...

Had lots of sleet last night...low is to be 17 tonight...

I do not know the wind chill right now...but nothing to stop the wind but a barbed wire fence... :)

Amarillo has received 5 to 8 inches of snow. We live in the southwest part of town and had 8.25 inches. When I got up at 5:00 this morning the temp was 16 with a wind chill of minus 20.burrrrrr The highway dept has done an excellent job on the roads. I 40 was closed for a while because of a wreck and a lot of fender benders around town but nothing serious. Any body want to camp in the canyon tonight? Supposed to be 9 degrees not sure what the wind chill will be.  Ed & Ruby

Okay Ed, you win with 16 degrees now and a low of 9 degrees. My Tear is tight and can hold warmth pretty well, but 9 degrees might be too much of a challenge.

Well, I made it into work again today, thanks to those good guys on the road crews.... My front yard is so pretty ... I'm just east of downtown OKC and the snow is up to ....welll, standing in the yard I kinda looked like ForestFrog's pic above !!!

Going to work this am I passed all those hundreds of semi's that couldn't get on the Turner Turnpike to head to Tulsa (n.e.) wow !!!

I think the temp this morning was about 11 degrees....brrr... but the suns out now. Ready for thaw then freeze then thaw again, then freeze... then thaw, then freeze....

But.... It's beginning to look alot like Christmas !!! Yea!!!

STAY WARM Y'ALL >>>>

ps.... good pic, Loader! haha
