Dave the brisket sounds good incase the turkey isn't. At least we'll have some meat to eat.

Sounds good to me, I'll bring some 'tater salad, that goes with both! I am looking forward to getting away for a laid back gathering. I've still got probably a full night's fire wood in the back of my truck too, with it being cold it, and the sun going down at freaking 5pm it might be good to have a small backup stash too, but I've got a pretty good amount ready to burn.

I'll probably be camping at my brother's house. The family has been invited to stay a day or two. They have a very large back yard. I think I'm going to bring my camper and park it out back. My sister says that this will defeat my purpose because all the kids will want to come sleep in the camper. That's okay too.

Have a great Thanksgiving guys.

Mind if we join in on the fun?

Dave is calling to see if there are any spots available. We were supposed to be in OK working on our latest project but the weather is supposed to be really COLD so we thought it would be a good time to take the teardrop out for a quick weekend run.

got our reservation but they don't assign the spot until we get there. Kinda strange. So what should we bring?

Texas state parks won't let you a reserve specific spot just that you will have a spot when you arrive.

Did y'all get a shelter or a regular campsite?

Four of us have reservations for shelters. They will let park our TD's at the shelters at this park.

Bring anything you normally would on a campout--food & firewood if you have any.

We're gonna attempt to deep fry a turkey on Saturday and Dave & Cindy are doing a brisket.

I know Woody will have some firewood and I have some too, we're gonna need it to stay warm, but it's a small gathering so I think we will be quite toasty!

We have a shelter spot reserved. I will probably make one of our traditional holiday sides to bring.

Hey everyone , our first choice for shelters is #'s 15 thru 19. Hopefully we can all get together in that group of shelters. If those are taken we'll go to plan "B" whatever that is. We plan to be there by 11am or noon at the latest Friday. See y'all soon.

Those were the ones I bet you would have picked. Luckily there is a slew of shelters right nearby too if things don't go perfectly. I Called the lady today just to throw my hat in the ring and say I was with the Woody crew so if they "happened" to be able to not book those sites around for those that don't mention that name, and she was not interested LOL... I know the rules so I expected that, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'll just ask when I get there to be in that area!
