Been a long time but why not try Amen G Carter down by Bowie?

I don't camp in the DFW area in November, but I do go to the CASI international chili cook-off in Terlingua the first weekend of November. It is warm during the day & cool at night!

Thanks everyone for your sugestions.

Dave, Tammy & I are leaning towards reserving a screened shelter at LWSP. They will let us park our TD's at the shelter  which could be handy if the weather turns bad. The weekend after Thanksgiving is best for us.

The website shows 18 shelters available right now but I suspect they will start filling up soon.

Let me know what you think.

We have reserved two shelters at Lake Whitney SP for us & our son for 11-26 & 11-27. This is Fri. & Sat. after Thanksgiving.

We can park our TD's at the shelters. The shelters are $24 per night and they have water & elect. Come join us if you can.

Great!

That's three. How many do we have to have to call it a gathering?

I was told at the first ITG that if you have 3 tears it's a gathering. :D

Someone at LCG told me that there was a new reservation site for Texas and it sucked. They were telling the truth.

I did check just now and there were 6 shelter sites available still. What is a shelter though? Anyone have a pic? I also see three sections with shelters.

I would like to go!

Thomas, the shelters are 12'x12' buildings with a solid wood wall about half way up. The rest of the wall is screened with wood louvers for privacy. There is a picnic table in each shelter. If the weather gets cold, windy or rainy we each have place to get out of the elements. One loop at the park has about 6 or 7 shelters on it which would be good for us. Hope you can join us.

So far we have us, our son & his TD and Dave & Cindy
