Here is the updated food list for Saturday's Shrimp Boil. (I am marking off items in green when they are committed):



10 pounds of smoked sausage (andouille or other smoked sausage) (2Bits - 5 Pounds Sausage)(Davel- 5 pounds)

20 pounds of new potatoes (Sonetpro is bringing 10, so there is 10 pounds left) (James Worley has the other ten pounds) DONE!

8 quart packages of whole mushrooms (annalbs -- 4 cartons)

4 packages of 24 ears frozen corn on the cob (the ones cut into 3-inch or so pieces), or 8 packages of 12 ears (Jeff -- 48 ears)(Spinnernut -- 48 ears)

10 Pounds of fresh Lemons (TXbum)

I am bringing all the spices

That should do it. Along with the corn, potatoes, sausage, and shrooms, no one will walk away hungry.! We will be in early Saturday morning.

I get those 1lb bags of shrimp from Wally world and usually eat the whole thing in one sitting but with no side dishes. Since we are having side dishes, I think 30# sounds about right!

My whole family lives in Houston, and they are not getting any of the storms we are getting up here. There is no telling what COULD happen, but typically, the coast gets brief storms, surrounded by mostly good weather. Knock on wood. My experience from living on the Gulf coast is that bad weather seldom hangs around. It is "hit and run" weather.

We can't control the weather at any gathering. We just make it work. It's a party, rain or shine!

I am willing to bet all the money I have that it won't snow, so Spinnernut should show up.

We are on the way to the Beach. Just spent two days at the 18th Dam Gathering and are spending the night in Bishop CA. Will check in from time to time as WIFI is available. Still planning to get there on Friday, bringing appetites and donations for the shrimp boil.
