September Texas Gathering

Postby Cindy » Wed Jul 06, 2005 8:50 pm

Dear Teardrop friends,
You have all talked to Dave but this is the first time I have been on. I am Cindy, Dave Lovelace's wife. Yes, those bluebonnets are mine.
I would like to propose a Teardrop Gathering in September.
Where: Inks Lake State Park
When: September 23-25
What: Friday gather as we can and meet for bedtime snacks.
Saturday visit all day and enjoy the park
Saturday night Chili Cook out. (Ok, so canned is all right.)
Also, look at slide show from Minden
Sunday morning Pack up and say good bye.

Hey and maybe we can all meet our new tear friends, Kai and Lois with the Mexican Tear from (you guessed it) Mexico.

I will volunteer to call Inks lake and make sure we can all get sites together when we get nearer to the date.
What do you all think?[/quote]

Hello there Cindy,
I would love to attend but can't give a definate yes or no right now. A lot depends on my inventory for Craft Shows. Charles will probably be hunting somewhere so I don't really expect him. I doubt I can stand not being in attendance with you guys so I'll probably be there. I'll just have to burn some midnight oil (not too hot then).
Thanks Cindy for heading this off.

Cindy, We do need to make our own reservations this time right? I know last time we were lucky enough to have Steve W. working at the park. I will make our reservation tomorrow just in case.

Chris,
Hate that you and Fran (that is right isn't it?) can't make it. BTW thanks so much for the pics you sent. Other people see things different and take different pics. I have saved a few.

Cindy,
I made reservations today. If we have an idea who will most likely arrive first we can put that person's name with ours on the reservation. That way the chosen person can pick all sites when they arrive. Otherwise we each pick when we get there. There were 119 available elec/water sites available at 6:35 pm today. I explained that we are a group of teardroppers and would like camp together.
Linda

George T,
Looking forward to meeting your family and checking out your rig.

Looking forward to visiting again with everyone else.

HUM it sounds like I am definately coming doesn't it?
Guess I better get out to the shop and work, work, work,

Linda

Sorry Linda, I just now caught your thread. Yes, my girlfriend's name is Fran. She really enjoyed meeting you and Charles in Minden and was as disappointed as I that you had to leave the morning after we arrived. We'd have enjoyed talking more with you two. Glad you liked the pictures. Have fun on your trip. We are a long, long way away from being able to join you.

reservations

Postby Cindy » Sun Jul 10, 2005 5:30 pm

Linda,
What I thought i would do was to see who all is signed up and when it gets closer I could talk to the people there and have them put us all in the same place. Heck, I may just take off and go on Friday morning to make sure all is well with a location.

We went to the beach at Galveston and camped this weekend. We had a teardrop hatchtastrophy but I will let Dave tell you about how far it flew! Exciting! Dave says it was "glue joint failure." At least it didn't hit anybody.
I don't think we will do that again.
