...yeah, like at a beach...about 3' from the waters edge!!!!!!!!!!...actually I have seen that done with a 3'(orso) log, semi split and set on fire...the splits make a chimney for the flame and it looks pretty darn cool as well.....................................

What if you cut a hole in the side at the bottom and added a blower to get extra combustion air - like a blast furnace or blow torch?

We have been doing this at some of the gatherings we have been going to this summer ... but only one log ... and after the fire gets going ... put in the empty wine bottles and they melt and blend together .... makes beautiful art .... and a good reason to drink lots of wine !!!! Trudy
