Anyone camping this July 4th weekend?

Postby oklahomajewel » Fri Jul 01, 2011 10:29 pm

My son and friends went tent camping this weekend.

I'm wondering if any of y'all are out at the lake.

I wish :( Actually I'll be working all weekend  Guess that's what I get for taking off last week and running off to Pigeon Forge for a truck show

I had enough of HOT camping , and it was great to see y'all and all ...

Woody, I might be done till Sept too ... but already got ideas of something for Labor Day and after that.

It's too hot to work on the camper too , so we're gonna pull an all nighter soon !!!

Jewel.
Is that all nighter gonna include snacks and beverages? You might get more help than you need.

I always stay home on July 4th weekend. The campgrounds are too crowded at that time. Also, there is usually some sort of free entertainment in ones own town then.

Another point, and maybe the most important, is what I heard on the news last night: Nationwide, more fires are started on July 4th than any other time of the year. That makes it a good time to stay close to home and be vigilante and ready to protect your surrounding areas.

We are tent camping for the night. Just at my parents in the backyard so we got wifi. Gosh this is roughing it. LOL It's just a place to crash for the night. Then go to the parade in town tomorrow and back home after.

I am camping at my house in my trailer LOL.... actually, there are fireworks at the city park literally across the street from my house, so I can't resist enjoying that since I should be gone by next year, so I'll just be hangin at home.

Purtis Creek is one of my best friends favorite places to camp, that's the first thing I thought of when you said where your new home was going to be!!! I feel a gathering coming on! (Once it cools off)

Purtis Creek is only about 9 miles from where we live - I was thinking about the same thing - maybe about April?

Sounds good, I have a feeling April showers will be intense from now on, but I have an easy up now! I might even get my gourmet, BBQ chef to come visit!
