New Years Eve at the Cat House

Postby planovet » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:25 pm

It seems that it is our turn this year to host the New Years Eve gathering. :D

It will be at the Cat House in Frisco, I will leave the red light on. Address will be sent in PMs to all that say they will attend. I will have room in the garage for 2 smaller tears and the rest will have to be on the street. We will also have a guest bedroom for someone to crash in and plenty of floor space. If you want to come, let me know.

So far we have the following that will be coming:

starleen2 (Scott, Cindy2, Georgia?)
caseydog (Glenn)
davel (Dave and Cindy1)
The Highlander (Scott and Gerri)
vairman (Greg and Terri)
TexasBill (Bill and Louisa)

Dave said he would bring a smoked turkey
The Dog will grill some Moinks
Greg will bring pina coladas and spinach dip
Preacher Man will bring candied pecans and other goodies
We will supply a spiral cut ham, queso dip and sausage pinwheels

I just live a few miles from the Cat. I'm going to bring my firepit over to his house. Does anyone have some firewood they can bring? I don't have much.

Instead of Swedish meatballs, I will do a bunch of MOINK balls -- they went over well at LCG. I will cold smoke some cheese, too. I can also do some Atomic buffalo turds -- jaleπpeños stuffed with cheese and sausage, and wrapped with bacon, then smoked.

I can also smoke a couple fatties (not what you think) to put in the fridge for breakfast. If someone will make some biscuits Sunday morning, we can have sausage and biscuits when we crawl out of bed after out night of debauchery.

I'll bring a bottle of Proseca for midnight -- gotta' represent Italy with the bubbly.

Since I live close, I can bring stuff over in advance. I'll probably bring some stuff over Friday evening.

Cat, do you have a grill if someone needs it? If not, I have several, and can bring one over on Friday.

Firewood & biscuits

Postby vairman » Mon Dec 19, 2011 8:10 pm

Glen, We have a little firewood already packed that was left over from Mineral Wells, so we'll bring it.

Also, if we bring Super tear, we'll have an oven to cook bisciuts if we have an outlet to plug into. How many cans do you think we will need to go w/your fatties?

Glen, We're bringing the small tear instead so we won't have a stove, but we will bring biscuits and a toaster oven if needed to cook them.

Mark, What time does the fun begin?

Greg :P :cheerswine:

blackeyed peas

Postby vairman » Tue Dec 20, 2011 5:53 pm

Does anyone, besides us, like blackeyed peas? It's kind of a Texas tradition to eat blackeyed peas for good fortune in the coming year.

We can make room for the two of you. As far as the dog, it depends. I will have my 4 cats locked up.

We have a stove in the house that will cook just fine.

I'm thinking we can start off around 4:00

I'll probably come early with the firepit, and to help set up. I may be tired after the long drive, but that's the kind of guy I am.

About 4 o'clock or thereafter on Saturday. Between four and dark would be best.
