Tammy & I have talked it over and decided we did not want to camp in December at Ray Roberts SP without a campfire. The park said they would have to have six inches of rain before the burn ban is lifted.

I have made reservations for us at Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake for December 7th & 8th. We will be in campsite #'s 129,146 and 147. If anyone wants to join us you can call Loyd Park at 817-467-2104 and make reservations.

The sites closest to us and closest together are #'s 130,131,132,132,133,134,148,149. All of these were available when I made my reservation Monday morning.

We hate missing Ray Roberts but we want to have a campfire.

I will start another thread so I don't hijack this one.

One day closer.

I am serious with doing a 2bit gathering if a burn ban is in effect, but maybe Woody's Loyd Park would be better since I would be challenged with the AMP draw on the power circuts for all the heaters since there would have to be substantial numbers and lengths of extention cords. I am just running 100AMPs right now. I will be running some Romex to each campsite soon, and also adding a dedicated 100AMP feed from the power pole for all the campsites later on, but have not completed this yet. Shooting for Jan for this for a birthday gathering...

We are also reconsidering our commitment to Ray Roberts. :(

As much as we like camping there (it was our very first gathering) and how much we enjoy eating in Sanger Sunday morning, we would hate to camp in December without a fire.

Any country cookin places in South Grand Prairie/Arlington or Cedar Hill? I grew up there as a teenager, but haven't been there in 20 years...
