Steve and Sharon, welcome to the group. Some of our fondest memories are in VWs. My wife Cindy learned to shift in a little beetle and we spent 3 years in Okinawa with an old Square Back that we took everywhere and loved. Also have fond memories of Dad's old VW Camper.

Again welcome to the group.

If all goes well, our tear should be ready by then, or at least "usable".

maybe I should edit that to "I'll be there if my little nephew isn't being born in the meantime"

regardless, I'm making my reservation...

I can swing that! It's only 8 hours from my house to The Big D. You don't mind an Okie from Kansas showing up, do you?

Thanks, Vairman. My girlfriend and I are planning on coming to the event. The weather will probably be a little warmer than Kansas for the time of the season. We can leave from T-town on Friday morning and make it before the Sun goes down.

Hey, where's all the people from LA (Madjack) and NM (I don't know) chiming in? This could be a big group if people want to travel a bit and have some fun. You guys in Texas have alot of builders (you're never done) and future builders that will come, let alone all the ones that have one built, from your region and would like to get together and swap ideas.

Vairman, I'll never be an ex-Okie. Like the fight song goes.... "I'm Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die, I'll be Sooner dead!"

Count us in. We have not yet been to a gathering yet. Sounds like fun. We are about 2 hours or a bit longer for us to get there.
