The Dark Side

Cindy has moved me to the Dark Side. She has bought a 1983 Hi-Lo. So yet another project.

Of course it wasn't close, it was in Missouri. She bought it on a Friday morning and that night we were spending the night in Witichita, KS. Next morning we went on to Cameron, MO. There was the trailer (didn't look like a 16') Cindy checked out the interior, looked at the outside and handed the guy the money and took the title. As we lowered on the hitch I kept expecting the rear of the van to bottom out (it didn't). The guy assured us that it only weighed 2000 lbs, he weighed it at the scrap yard.

Dropped by Rayville and visited with Gary and Trudy and then headed home. I was amazed at how well it towed. Gas milage settled in to the same as we get with the Blue Bonnet, again I was suprised with this. Trip was smooth except for the lose of a wheel in Guthrie, OK. After about an hour we had retreived the wheel still in good condition and bolted it back on the axle and limped into town to find more lug bolts. Ended up with bolts and lockwashers. Rest of the trip was uneventful.

Will we still be accepted by our South Central Family?

Dave, its not the dark side. You know how hard it is for me with knee is still bad after 2 surgeries and doesn't look like it is getting any better. Besides, we will be going to conferences beginning next Spring and I want somewhere to stay that won't cost as much as the hotels. Anyway, I look forward to everybody seeing my "Paradise Lounge." No, the "Staar-light Lounge."

Of course Dave has to rebuild some things and I need to paint and do window coverings etc. 8)

This is a little short of a motor coach. But as I get older that would be nice. :)

Dave & Cindy, congratulations ! Hi-Lo units are very easy to set and enjoy. Question, what will become of the Blue Bonnet teardrop? Richard & Mary Jane :applause:

I thought I would let you all know that I have named the new trailer. Hey, it goes up and down. I'm hoping it will be ready by Beaver Bend.

haha, guess u summed it up Gary. The idea of standing up to get dressed sounds better every day. More so for the hubby than me......He has aged more than me this year.
