Bonham State Park

Postby Fishingtomatoseed » Thu Jan 31, 2013 8:03 pm

Me and kido's headed to the State Park in Bonham for Saturday night if anyone interested in going. We will probably fish Saturday with a roast in the DO for supper. Maybe do a little geocaching. Have fun and watch the fire.

Maybe next time Woody. It's a nice quite park. Good for the kids to run and play.

We finally made it. A one hour trip turned into a 5 hour trip.

Axle spring decided to break. This would be a warning to people using old springs that they salvage from using and old trailer.

Had an extra one at the house so we left the trailer in bar ditch and headed home. It's fun doing repairs on the side of the road on the dirt.

You can see rust where it has been cracked for a while. Never noticed it during the build. So I don't know when it happen and it is stored inside. So I guess it has been there for a while.
But we have a fire going and a pole in the water now. Ready for some hot dogs.

Wow that is ironic since I believe that is what happened to Woody going to Mineral Wells a couple years ago! Glad you got it all done and still went camping! I think I am going to take this to heart and get new springs for my standy my mom gave me!

Too bad on the springs Clint. Looks like y'all are having a good camp trip otherwise.

Yes I did have a spring break on mine but I was only 25 miles from home so I went home and got my utility trailer and loaded the TD on it and went camping anyway. It just took us little longer to get there.

....note to self: make trailer axle skinny enough to fit on my car hauler in case of emergency!
