Krause Springs Texas

Postby oklahomajewel » Tue Apr 09, 2013 4:05 am

Hey all ... we are thinking fo somewhere different to go camping at this summer. He may have limited vacation and furlloghs may still be happening.

My niece in law posted some pictured from Krause Tx ... Looks like it could be a good camping place, although a 6 hr drive for us.

Has anyone camped there before ? It's east of Cedar Park/ Leander area. And website says $12 a day for RV's and then I think a regular daily use fee.

We are hoping to camp sometime this spring or summer at McGee Creek in southern Okla

Thanks .
Julie

Hey! That place is my secret! You will love it. Good to know:
Extremely small sites. They are set up in a row like a parking lot.
Very few sites.
Fresh water pool that is cold.
Grotto area that is beautiful. One side is a cliff. One side are massive rocks to sit or lay on, but very slippery. Saw many falls.
Pretty garden area.

You might want to check out Pedernales Falls. Bigger and similar.

Let me know if you get this way! It's about 1 1/2 hours from me.
