Hey Woody, do you think we can rent the group area again? Seems like we have enough interest!

In the past for the September gathering we had reserved a group loop, so we might do the same thing. What is cool about this park is that you can actually reserve a specific site ahead of time which I really like, so either way once we get some posters and reservations, we will know our area and we can start reserving in the vicinity. I'll hold off reserving myself until Woody replies, and we can just reserve around each other or if the group area is an option we will need to pitch in to get it paid for in advance :)

Who changed this gathering from Ray Roberts??? I like Ray Roberts!!! They have concrete walking paths. We only went to Loyd Park last year because they were under a burn ban at RR and it was "cold"""
What do you guys think? Did I miss the vote?

Cindy, right now, RR is still under a burn ban. I have a BBQ Brethren gathering in a few weeks, and we can use our smokers, but no open fires. I don't know how the weather expected in the next few days will affect that.

I like Ray Roberts, too, and the Sunday breakfast in Sanger rocks. But, if I camp in December, I want a campfire. So, I'm okay with Loyd Park, if that's what it takes to have a campfire.

Vote? What vote? I thought this was an oligarchy, not a democracy. I don't want a vote; look what happens when elected officials run the show. I bow to the experienced few!

I believe Woody conjured the idea from his infinite wisdom in another thread somewhere along the lines that CD mentioned about the burn ban and that some others had expressed interest in returning to the park again, I like the park although you can't use your state park pass for free admission, you get a much more lax enviorment to beer and fire which are two of my favorite things!

Ok, I'm not upset about this, I just wanted to know why the change. It is cold in December and we do need to have a fire. That is a good reason to change to a more private park where we can burn to keep our buns warm. Looking forward to spending time with all of our camping friends.

I think the way it works is the first person to make a reservation somewhere picks the spot! Keeps it lively!

The loops we were in last year were D & E. They are site #'s (128 thru 139) and (146 thru 152). These are all close to each other. We were in # 128 last year and will reserve that one again unless someone beats me to it. Dave and Cindy were in #148 last year. I haven't made reservations yet but probably will at the end of next week.

We will have a nice warm fire , and it will be a short jog back to your camper and in December you never know what you are gonna get, It's been 70 one week and 30 the next plenty of times so lets give it a whirl! Looking forward to it and I already have my white elephant gift!
