Sunday 4/27 evening... I see that a tornado hit a very small northeastern Oklahoma town, and also touched down west of Little Rock, AR near Maumelle and Mayflower. Immediately thought of Larry & Macy and Harvey and Lenora ... wonder if all are alright!

Dunno where Larry & Macie live in Maumelle but the damage at Mayflower is a few miles northwest of Maumelle proper. It is 30-35mi NW of us here in Saline County. We were watching the weather pretty closely. Had to miss Beaver's Bend because of illness & didn't really feel like making a run for the 'fraidy hole'. Fortunately no alarms went off for our area. Our grandaughter's kids spent the weekend with her M-I-L at Lake Conway (adjacent to Mayflower) but they got the kids home well before the storms hit. M-I-L is OK, just no power & a few trees down. Apparently the tornado went just south of her place...

Gary and I got home today ... we spent the night in Rogers Arkansas. We called Larry Pyrtle (BACON MAN) he lives in Little Rock and they were fine ... said tornado hit about 8 miles from there home. Wonderful gathering at Beavers Bend ... thanks to Linda and Charles for arranging a great time.

Thanks for asking. We live in North Little Rock. Sirens were loud but North Little Rock was fine. All the damage was north and quite severe.
The Mayflower RV dealer was totally wiped out. I saw a 40 foot 5h wheel tossed about 400 yards from the dealer into some woods. Every trailer they had was totally destroyed.
The tornado crossed both sides of the freeway yet deposited RV's on both sides of the freeway.. I think the total loss of life was 16 souls. Very sad day.
Thanks to Linda for all her hard work in putting the gathering together. Perfect weather for visits with old friends and making many new friends.
