I have a bunch of blackberries from my garden last fall .... so going to make a dutch oven blackberry dump cake

Leaving on Tuesday and will be there on Thursday. Will be great to see everyone.

I`m almost ready to go sent my deposit were excited to be heading out on our very first gathering when i realized I dont have a clue where beavers bend is? im sure it`s tex but could somebody give me directions?

It's about 10 mile north of Broken Bow OK off highway 259. Even though I've been there several times I still had to google it to see how far from Broken Bow it was.

Thomas and Kenny, are you going to bring your drift trikes to Beavers bend? I'm trying to decide if I should bring mine.

Greg please bring yours! With all my camper swapping I havent finished mine I think everyone would get a kick out of it though

ok everyone our 10th Annual Beavers Bend camp out is almost here so here are some things our newbies need to know.

Beavers Bend State Park is located in south eastern Oklahome just of US 259 on 259A which is 7 miles north of Broken Bow OK

You do not need to stop at the office

We are in the Buckeye campground which is easy to find.
you come to a stop sign at the office
go straight at the stop sign
you will pass the convenience store on your left
then go over a little creek
you will then see a row of cabins on your right
on the left you will see a big play area as well as brown bath house
THE BUCKEYE CAMPGROUND IS BEHIND THE PLAY GROUND AND BATH HOUSE, it is hard to see as it is down hill behind play ground
Turn left at the drive and you will see the park host on the right just before the entrance into the Buckeye campground.
There is no need to stop at the park host.

Drive down, circle around and scope out the sites then loop back around and set up when you find one to your liking

I do not assign sites, all sites will say Modisette

We are using the following sites for 2 unitss so if you don't mind sharing then feel free to set up in them
1,3,6,9,10,12,13,14,15,16

if you are 62 or older you receive a Senior Discount (if you have paid in full I will refund the discount)

Dogs are allowed in the park but MUST be on leash at all times

Tents (if you are adding a tent please talk to me as I go around these rules when possible)
We are allowed to have a tent on a site for an additional $12
If tent is used for storage then no charge
if a child under 18 is using the then then no charge
if adding electricity to tent it is an additional $8

This is a very informal gathering
With a variety of things to do
fishing, hiking, sitting around doing nothing, walking around and checking out all the teardrops and tiny travel trailers and eating

We have a group picture just before our pot luck supper on Saturday evening.
We usually try to eat around 6

I know some of you are arriving on Wednesday. You can tell the park host that you have paid me and they will be fine with that. I will call and remind the park that some are coming in on Wednesday.
If you owe $, I try to collect by early Saturday morning so I am not spending my day looking for everyone.
If you owe $ you can pay via cash or check (make check out to Beavers Bend)
If you see me walking around with a clip board I am most likely just noting who is in which campsite, who has tent etc

If you have such a great time that you want to get on the list for 2016 I do take deposits before we leave as I have 2 weeks to pay next year's deposit
PS. I will be more organized on deposits than last year. I will let each camper write their name on a list and put their deposit in an envelope

Linda, thanks for the additional info. I looked it up on Google Earth and don't think I will have any problem finding the site. Looking forward to my first camping trip of the year.

I plan to leave Wednesday and be there sometime Thursday. However...I live behind a low water bridge (I assume people in this part of the world know what those things are), and right now the bridge is under water and too deep to cross. I THINK it will be down enough to cross by Wednesday, but you never know. Anyway, if I am a little late, you will know why, but I still plan to be there.

Nope Greg, did not get my drift trike built yet. WAY too many other projects going on, so it's only about half done. And with the way the weather is looking, not bringing motorcycle either. I DO plan on having it running by LCG at the latest though......

We should be arriving sometime Wednesday afternoon.

We have one of those tents that is made to attach to the side door of a little Guy teardrop trailer. We use it kind of for storage and kind of for an extra room when it rains or something and for our loo. Nobody sleeps in it. Would we need to pay extra for it?
