West Texas Gathering?

Postby davel » Mon Jan 16, 2006 9:56 am

I know I've heard of a few tears out west.

Well, Cindy and I are going to take the Bluebonnet Tear to Monahans Sand Dunes March 11th through 13th. Anyone want to come gather in the sand? 8)

Hey Dave, I'll go with you to Monahans Sand Dunes and we can slide down the dunes together. You bring the cardboard.

Where are they?

Monahans Sand Dunes are about 35 miles west of Odessa. Here is a link to the state park website. There are only 28 sites so it is not a great meeting place for a big gathering but it is fun. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/find ... sandhills/
I think you can cut and paste that address to get there.

Thanks for the info!
Checked out the website. It sounds like a fun place to spend a few days. Bet it's hot in the summer however. Spring sounds like a better time to visit!
I'm always looking for places not too far away. Our school does 4 day weeks from Feb. to May, with a couple of 3 day weeks in the mix. Hate to waste those long weekends, just staying at home. Always want somewhere new to explore!
