I've never been bothered by them. Just put the beverage in a koozie and don't get goofy, is my method

I've only been in a few Hill Country parks and points south. Garner and Lake CC, it seems like it's a requirement to be snockered  especially on the weekends.

But it takes all kinds, I guess. Barney Fife lives on!

UPDATE!!! I got this in my reservation confirmation today (Aug 2017):

CHANGES COMING WINTER OF 2018/2019

Texas State Parks plan to move to a new reservation system in the winter of 2018/2019. The move to a new reservation system will afford you the opportunity to select specific sites when making reservations for most overnight facilities.

Here's what you need to know:
Our current reservation system cannot accept requests for site specific sites, except for reservations made for Lake Livingston SP as part of that park's site specific reservations pilot program project.
If you make a reservation before we switch to the new reservation system for arrival after the new system is in place:
Your reservation will automatically be assigned to a specific site or sites
After the new system is in place (winter of 2018/2019) if you would like to request a specific site for your reservation, you may call our Customer Service Center at (512) 389-8900.
Please keep in mind that the new reservation system's implementation timeframe is a projected timeframe and not fixed. Check back for updates and we will do our best to keep all notifications up to date as changes to the schedule occur.

2bits,
Maybe I'm just missing it. Is there any gatherings planned for here in Texas for 2018?

Check out the South Central calendar: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=61558

Right now there is only Beaver's Bend in April on the books and others will surely appear as they are planned!
