Spring break Inks Lake

Postby GeorgeT » Sun Mar 12, 2006 9:54 am

I got a late reservation for one day (only site left) for one day March 14th at Inks Lake. Will be leaving campground March 15th noonish. Anyone want to come by and visit and take a look at my camper and Sportz tent is more'n welcome. I'll be looking for other TDs to visit while there. Happy Spring Break! :)

GeorgeT,

I live in the area and there is a nice place on lake LBJ that would be good for teardrops. Check out there site.
Here is the link http://www.sunsetpointlbj.com/

Hello Don, Welcome to the forum...Looked at the site and it looks very nice. RV sites are way out of my price range. Charles and I hope to get out that way before too long. We all had a gathering planned at Inks Lake back when Hurricane Rita hit. I was really looking forward to it..A group is planning on Inks Lake at the end of May but we won't be able to attend.

Back in Austin from Inks Lake. Camper pulled real nice, no problems. We got to stay two days as there were cancellations due to the burn ban. No charcoal fires, no campfires. Enjoyed it, no rain, very pleasant weather. Still crowded and a bit noisy during the day but pretty quiet after 10 pm. Nice park, will go again and take kayaks. Here some pics.

My 11 year daughter took most of these with her new digital camera. Not bad for a young'n. :D

You guys had a really nice weekend to camp. I hope this weekend coming up will be half as nice. Will you be coming to Inks on Memorial Day? If so, make sure you get your reservations waaay ahead of time, I have my reservations but I put in for them about a month ago.

I like your setup, it's like you have a living room, bedroom, and a covered patio.

GeorgeT,
Nice rig and I like the covered areas you have set up. One of these days I hope to check it out. Cute daughter, I have one that will be 13 this year.

Here is a link to another camp site you might want to checkout. It is between Llano and Fredricksburg, about 6 miles out of Llano.

http://www.oxfordranchcamp.com/index.html

Their campground is set up in a open meadow, they have showers and bathrooms. There is also about 160 acres that you can explore. The "Tin Cup Cafe" serves very good food, excellent bread pudding.

There rates are low and I think this would make a good site for a TD or TTT get together.

Happy trails,
