Festival of Wheels and Music Jamboree

This special event for teardrop trailers and vintage trailers of all sorts is going to happen on the weekend of September 15th, 16th and 17th in Goldendale, Washington. Goldendale is about 100 miles from Portland up the Columbia River Gorge and across the US Hwy 97 bridge at Biggs Junction.

All vintage stuff will be camping downtown in the county courthouse parking lot. It will be a dry camp with porta potties provided. Showers are down the street at the local swimming pool. There are alternate campsites in town also.

It all starts on Friday night with live music on the courthouse lawn featuring blues music from "The Ragged Blues Band" at 6:00 PM and surfin' music from Portland's very own "TheVerbtones" at 8:00 PM lasting until 10:00 PM. There will be a cruise around town throughout the evening.

On Saturday, a block away from camp, a CARQUEST Show n' Shine takes place with "The Wolfman" spinnin' the tunes all day. There will be 28 trophies and lots of prizes to be given away. Also, on Saturday there will be the Outlaw Lawn Dragsters racing on Main Street (0-60 mph in less than 2 sec), 4X4 Rock Crawls, and the Maryhill Mayhem where longboarders deluge down the Maryhill Loops. This skateboard contest will challenge the 3.5 miles of the Maryhill Loops Grade. That should be something to see!

Music begins at noon on Saturday featuring three country bands playing all day. The day ends with more music featuring blues recording artists "Too Slim and the Taildraggers" beginning at 8:30 PM.

Sunday from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM the Festival of Wheels is hosting the Great American Classic Truck, Tractor and Vintage RV Ho-Down. It will be the big day for displaying all the vintage vehicles, trailers and classic trucks and tractors on the courthouse lawn and parking lot. It’s all over by 3:00 PM. There will be more live music from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM featuring “The Wasco Brothers” playing rock-a-billy music from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.

So, for those teardrop and TTT (Tiny Travel Trailers) owners who have missed out this summer, this will be a great event to enjoy.

Registration ends Friday, September 1st. Please reply to Marty Boehme at 503-632-6563 or [email protected]. That way, we can camp as a group. This should be attractive to all those in the Portland area because it's so close.
