Going camping Saturday 16 August 2008

:campfire:

It's going to be in the 100s this weekend and my sweetie and I have it off. We are headed up to the Lake Wenatchee area to go camping. (It's in the mountains so it should be a bit cooler up there). We are leaving first thing Saturday morning. It's the first time that I have taken Oliver up there so we are going to have fun. Campfires and Charcoal is allowed in established campsites. We haven't decided which campground so if you want to go on an adventure then let me know as we would love to have the company.

After a review of all the weather reports and a review of our home AC unit, we decided to stay home. We should be headed out next weekend if we can find a spot.

Good choice. It's only 97 over here, so I have chosen to stay at home, too. I could have been at a Dutch oven cookout. :D

Well, at least you stayed with the ice.

We're off this coming weekend to White Fish Horse Camp near Crescent Lake @ 4800 feet. I hope its a little cooler there

My sweetie and I took off for Beverly Beach south of Depot Bay on the Oregon Coast. While it was in the mid-50's and foggy, our daughter told us it was 100+ in Portland. We're doing the same thing this weekend though it's not supposed to be as hot.

I made the right choice. We made skeeter curtains. We could go camping only one night so this weekend we get to do a trial run.

When we were in Medford, OR, the past few years, the hotter climate change my camping and hiking too.

Ended up going to the redwoods and south Oregon rather than locally so I did not have to cancel.

At least that was within 2 hours.

Surprisingly, I"ve never been to Wenatchee before.

You definitely are surrounded by nice locations on all sides.

Thank you, we are actually headed down the coast tomorrow for six wonderful days. My wife is prodding me to host an event next summer up in Leavenworth so you might have an excuse to visit the area soon. :)

I just got back from the Northwest corner of Oregon. (More to come later).I actually have a gnome mounted on my dash with velcro. I carry one in the trailer. I got one for my anniversary (28th) and I bought another in Sisters. If you would have caught me with my trip then you would have had me with four gnomes and a big bottle of tequilla. 8)
