The weather cooperated and the company was cordial. I really enjoyed myself.

Here is our set of pictures: http://www.zoto.com/site/#USR.tigrrlily::PAG.lightbox::ORD.date::DIR.asc::LIM.128::OFF.0::TUN.spring%20fling%202009

You are going to want the from the 22nd on as we were doing a little more up the coast earlier. You will see side trips, strange food, a ton of trailers and even a few people that you might recognize. I will leave you with the image of the world's largest egg.

What a great group of people! This was our first, but not our last, Spring Fling.

Here we are parked between JDarkOregon's Long Haul and NWSage's Kit...right across the street from Woody Row. It was a nice neighborhood.

Mike--you have so many more pictures than I got. I guess we need to actually take pictures rather than just standing there holding the camera while we talk.

Mike- I loved all the pictures of Spring Fling. Even though I live in FL, my daughter was at your gathering. I have never been to a gathering with that many neat trailers.

You sure have some nice pics yourself. I am so glad you all remembered your camera. I was hoping to get a bunch myself. Makes it nice to show people at work what I was doing all weekend.

Thanks a bunch.

Thanks NightCap, we all do our best. Hopefully, we will be able to do at least one more for the season. I know that I am looking forward to heading to the hills and doing some camping.

It was a great event at the Spring Fling. The Birley's property was a good place to hold it this year as the previous park used suffered damage in the floods this last winter.
The flood of December 2007 devastated their house and property but with the help of many teardroppers and friends over the months after the water receded, the house was repaired, the barn and property cleaned up so that life could get back to normal for them.

This first photo was a day after the water started to recede.

Image
The water had gone down about 3ft when the photo was taken.

This is the same view last weekend with many teardroppers enjoying the sunny weather that we had over the weekend.

Some had left by the time this photo was taken. There were 50+ trailers with well over 100 folks having an enjoyable time. As a side note, Washington state does have a few sunny days during the year. Several of us finished drying out from the Dam Gathering at the first of May. lol

Jack knows a guy who knows a guy. This photo was taken by the biplane who made all the low passes over the gathering, and was a friend of one of the participants (the Johnsons?)

BTW, I have straightened out the slide show on my photos and have added a very short video that Kelsey Farrell took of the steam train.

Well Mike, it wasn't taken by the Biplane, he forgot to take his camera with. I think this is Sunday, I did hear an airplane fly over while the Cowchips were playing. Tell us Jack!!

You guys missed the Hot Air Balloon rides Ed Kelson was giving on Sunday afternoon?

Dang, we got a little involved going after finding Yardbirds. A hot air balloon ride would have been cool.

Using a 5000 watt hair dryer plugged into one of the power outlets that were scattered around camp to fill the balloon, Ed tried without success to achieve liftoff. So Plan B at Camp B was initiated. Birley's had a friend who is a pilot do a flyover on Sunday and take the photos. He then dropped a copy off late Sunday evening. What a fun time it was with the setting, weather and everyone that attended.

Mental image of the plane flying over again and a picture on a little parachute falling to the ground.
