Memorial Day weekend camping

Postby TRDRPR » Fri May 27, 2011 1:03 pm

It's pouring outside, so it must be time to go out camping for Memorial Day weekend. :(

Are you going camping this weekend or staying in where it's warm and dry?

I won't go near a campground this weekend, but if it's warm enough, I may sleep in my trailer so I can test my newly acquired fantastic fan!

We're planning to the Gorge Gathering but we aren't getting there until tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too bad. If we didn't have pet sitting set up, I think that we'd be opting for dry and warm.

I like this idea Paul

Last Sunday afternoon, the wife and I climbed in the trailer and put a movie on and took a little nap..real cozy....might do it again this weekend 8)

I used to go away on all the Holiday weekends....But not any more!

I usually offer to work the Holiday and then take the Holiday another Monday when the crowds aren't there.

Next week I'm going away from Wed. to Sun. But this weekend I'm working Sun and Mon.

Happy Trails

We went camping over the weekend, i belong to a blackpowder club that puts on a rendezvous every year. as some of you know we lost our grandson a couple years ago and one of the things that he did was was win the Pee Wee trail and a new rifle at our rendezvous that year so in his memory i have put on the Pee Wee trail and to our surprise last year my other grand son won first place and a new rifle, well this year his younger brother did the same :D

2011 Gorge Gathering

The inaugural Gorge Gathering happened right on schedule over the weekend at the Skamania County Fairgrounds. As you can see, the view in the Columbia River Gorge is fantastic! A great time was had by all in the wind and rain!

Enjoyed the gorge camp-out in spite of the rain It was raining or just windy and wet most of the 3 1/2 days
met some 1st timers who chose this event as the first time out with their first teardrop and they loved it. Both were happy and never once complained. Oh and they both have serious handicaps (she severe stroke damage, he Parkinson) that limit their mobility . even though they were wet and cold most of the time they had the true teardrop spirit.
great turn out of teardrops for a 1st time event
