Camping close to Vancouver

I am looking for places to take my teardrop and camp that are within say an hour or hour and a half from Vancouver WA. The idea is to find someplace close to home that I could pop off too after work on Friday.

I have heard that Dugan falls is nice, but I can't confirm that I can get my TD into a space. The word "primative" keeps showing up, and if that means I can't back up because the roads are so small, well I can't do that.

In a perfect world the place would be:
Out of the main wind from the gorge
within an hour of east Vancouver
swimming hole or water close

other than that I am not picky

I don't know if Silverton, OR is too far, but there is Silver Creed Falls, If you go East from Salem 20 to 25 miles, you will find John Neal Park in Lyons, and River Bend in Mill City
Even Mt St Helens isn't that far from you.

Fort Stevens near Astoria is a fantastic state run campground. It might take closer to two hours to get there from Vancouver, but it's worth it.

Try Ainsworth or Memaloose State parks on the Oregon side of the gorge.

We enjoyed Battleground Lake State Park in Washington a few years ago. It is just a little ways north of Vancouver.

I would recommend Memaloose as well. I haven't been there in awhile, but I'm sure it's still great and should be easy to maneuver your trailer into a space. Not sure if they take reservations. Sometimes primitive means no hookups or no flush toilets.

The no flush toilets and no amenities doesn't bother me, I just want to make sure the roads (tracks, whatever) are wide enough for me to back in.

We enjoyed the Olympic National Forest last month. No problem with roads or parking with Tear.
