creative door sealing?

Postby jayray » Tue Nov 08, 2005 11:53 pm

:worship: Any good ideas from the seasoned pros on sealing my door water tight. I used R.W. Johnsons T-moulding around the 5/8 plywood door and their T-door latches.......so anything i attempt to use as a door seal causes the door to bulge out enough and not latch. So currently we are fair weather campers. Not so good in the N.W.

jr, can you move/reposition the door latch mechanism on the inside to give you the freeplay to install a weather strip...maybe take it off and put an 1/8"spacer behind it and the catch also....giving you enough roof for some 1/8" (compressed) weatherseal

 Thanx for the ideas. I made a couple of shims form some scrap .032 alum leftover from my roof skin and placed them behind the inner door latch. Seems to be ok. It passed the hose test . We plan on hitting U.S. 101 this weekend, so we shall see. Thanx again. :worship:
