Bah - it's not here this Christmas
Posted: Sun Dec 14, 2014 12:32 pmHi Marrianne - Katie is in the hospital. Since last Saturday early morning she has experienced many major strokes. She will be in the hospital until an operation can clear the artery in the left side of her neck.
We were at the AZ Round Up when this happened. I asked around that evening for a nurse. Sharan (IRG) showed up in our camp, but Katie told us she probably was OK. With us busy every night on Sun, Tue and Wed with Christmas programs, potlucks and dinners, nothing happened until I called one of her close friends and had the friend get on the phone with Katie. Thankfully, the friend convinced Katie to go to the hospital. She was there Thursday night and ever since and can't leave until after the risky operation.
Katie never has had the symptions we all remember about a stroke. She has only a numb right cheek and numb right arm. Hopefully, the 90% blockage can be cleared without causing a fatal stroke.
