He mentioned getting a pass for the 11th. We'll be gone by then! Spiral Jetty seemed interesting.

That's me. A day late and a dollar short. :x I'm not getting that close to Promontory Point without seeing the Spike site. Spiral Jetty sounds like a winner for the 10th. Everyone else will be at the Spike.

I figure we still start on the 9th ( no more jerking the start date around ) On Friday we can explore the area, see the Spiral Jetty, some of the eastern part of the rail bed. A few naps and campfire. Sing kumbyya a few times. Saturday see what happens. some could go on west on the rail bed about 20 or so miles. Those that want to go to the the Headquarters could catch up. Stay on the rail bed and should not be a problem. Then Sunday will be a pretty full day. For Saturday might make it to Matlin.

Not sure how impressive the Spiral Jetty will be. Google earth probably has a better view but at least a person could say they have been there in person.

The water level of the lake plays into it big time. I was at the jetty in January 2015 and you could get a pretty good view.
The lake levels are very similar right now. So short of a lot of rain, or a lot of fast snow melt you should be able to see the jetty.

With a little luck I will join the fun after all. 8)

Also, they opened up the ticket window for another batch on May 10th again this morning.

I went ahead and got a vehicle pass for Friday the 10th.

So plans are more or less back to normal.

Meet up Thursday afternoon.

Spend Friday good part of the day at Promontory Point for the Celebration and maybe the spiral jetty.

Saturday and Sunday explore the old railroad grade.

Cool beans. Things seem to be coming together. I am in Albuquerque right now and for at least another week. Then home and then off to get another car.

I will stay behind and watch the camp so that will lesson the load. Cap Telescope got a pass for the 11th. We will work it out when we get there.

See you in Snowville May 9th about 2pm

Remind me to bring flowers

Randy

The bus is still available on craigslist. But at $8000 it's a bit beyond my means.

Tempting but I have bought a few vehicles since I last saw you and my sisters are about to shoot me. And I really am running out of parking space.

Wolfgang. Is the permit tied to a specific vehicle and/or person? Or can it be passed on. Wondering if you can't make it I could buy it and then we can use it.
