Lots of good ones here in Central Oregon along the Cascade Lakes Hwy.. I was just up there this morning on the motorcycle. Anything in particular you're looking for?

i should be a bit clearer. What are your favorite camp grounds or area in the Cascades?

I rather like Lodgepole and Pleasant Valley on Chinook Pass

Best place in the world to camp is anywhere along highway 20 - North Cascade Highway. Try Early Winters and lone Pine on the East side just west of Winthrop. Or there are several sites on the west side of the pass. But, make your reservations early and often.

Camping places in the Cascades

I like Lake Wenatchee in the fall. Beautiful leaves turning all colors.

Lake Kachees I have enjoyed in the past but I'm not sure about the lake level with these drier times. It can be quite low in the fall.

Lake Easton is nice too.

Salmon La Sac near Roslyn but it is closed for reconstruction.

totally agree! highway 20 is a very scenic area and the state park by Winthrop was ok. just remember that the pass closes in the winter... :(

One of my favorite areas too. How far up the Cascade Lakes Highway can you get right now? I'm itching for a Central Oregon trip soon!

Sorry no,

Last I heard that it won't open until the first of May. The North Cascades got dumped on with snow.
Usually, they open it up by opening day of fishing season.

Mike
p.s.-I'll let you know when it opens.

It's still closed at Mt. Bachelor on the north end. From the South you can probably get up to Crane Prairie, maybe Cultus Lake. It hasn't been a real heavy snow year so it should be open a little earlier than normal.

How about a "Crawl across Hwy 20 East to West or Visa Versa in 2013..... OR.... From each end meeting in the Middle. "Conconnully"!

Just an update.
Stayed at another wonderful campground in Winthrop Wa.
The Silverline Resort on Pearrygin Lake.
What great campground and a serious possibility for a "Gathering" location.
GREAT FACILITIES!
