Some low life did it....

For those of you that have been along HWY 50 across Nevada have surely seen this tree. Teardropping caravans have stopped here in the past. There is an Old Pony Express station nearby I believe. Now some moron took care of it.... Doug

That's a lot of effort just to be a jerk.

Poetic justice would have been for it to twist and fall on his truck or him for that matter....

We have shoes in that tree or had I guess. On our trip to Jellystone last Summer we had to stop and throw a pair in. What a shame for someone to cut it down.

I'm with Doug, justice would be the tree falling smack dab on the idiot and crushing him like the insignificant bug that he is. :x

Same thing happend a few years ago to another shoe tree north of Susanville on 395. The locals where getting up a lynching party over that one.

Why people do such things escapes me.

OK...so les contemplate fer a moment..jus WHAT would be a fittin punishment fer these fools ?

Rarely is "punishment" real justice....

So...make em cleanup the mess at their expense...
Plant a new tree..
Locate another tree and rehang ALL he shoes...
Water, care for, and PROTECT the new tree fer the rest of their lives !!!

Now THAT would be JUSTICE !

Hope they find the jerk/jerks. And hang them by their soft bits in a tree.

I'm glad I stopped and took pictures summer 2010. Middlegate was a fun stop and so was the shoe tree. The folks that cut the tree were probably some of the same people that had shoes hanging there. Boredom makes people do sad things.

Boredom makes people do sad things.

Alcohol makes people do some sad things. I'll wager one dollar that whomever is responsible for this was both drunk and bored. Sad.
