Well, we are finally getting close. We have an overnight 4 X 4 trip this weekend and then we bring cupcake (our teardrop) to the house and start getting ready for the IRG. Just got a new water can holder for the the trailer and plan to mount it next week and then make sure we are packed up and ready to go. We are taking a round about way of getting there but it will be fun. We leave on Friday and go to Ely NV then on to Carson City to see folks and then some camping at Eagle Lake and then off to the redwoods. After the IRG (hate thinking about leaving) we are going down the coast and then back to the desert and more work.

It is going to be hard to get used to our temps again after being up north. It was 104 this morning when I went riding. Yeah, I'm ready for some shade and cooler temps.

We look more like a cabin in the woods then one of those fancy units, Built with a basic low budget, it has taken years for the BoxKite to become a much improved simple trailer. It has no Galley the advantage is I can use it as a small utility trailer if we want. Our Kitchen sits outside. We did not set up for show so much as to camp in most people walked pasted but it was not out front People more saw Lucia cooking in her kitchen and said high as they passed. And that is why i say we are just a cabin in the woods with a pretty paint job and a wood stained rear hatch.

95190This is what you saw when you walked by us. Lucia Cooking. Our Trailer is shy.
95192 Just a basic woods shot ..... hmmm what is that that is blocking your view
95193 If I had just steeped back a little more you would have got an idea who big that tree to the right is. You can also see my failed swing out table Just the siing out bumper remains.
95189 we liked the set up we had room to do our Dutch Oven cooking
95191
Above... if you are real Quiet you can see BoxKite she is sleeping now. if she wakes up she will run around behind the kitchen and HIde. 95190she woke up see I told you she would hide!! :rofl2:
Now sing this song
"Its my birthday and, I will play if I want to, play if I want to, Play if I want to, and one day it will happen to you!":P
Now here is a real cabin in the woods
the IRG Kitchen

they should say July, 2010 I am jumping the gun a little.

Some times it helps to say it just to give them a pat on the back They have worked so hard up to now and now have to work on loose ends.

Thank you for doing such a great job. ..... I know it is not just you two that there are many people working on this to make it all work.

I applaud your intentions, but "Tiny" is spelled with one "n" not two ;-)

International redwoods gathering. Held every two years in the great state of Jefferson (northern Cali, just south of Oregon) home of the giant redwoods. This year there will be 125 trailers. Coming up in two weeks, thus the increased irg chatter. This will be our first irg, but have been to several gatherings with many of the same great folks so I know it will be fabulous. For more info including videos of past events, go to the top of this forum and under "teardrop friendly websites). Choose Pamplona grove. That is where irg is held and the website dedicated to it.

Anybody got some suggestions for a campsite enroute to IRG, I'm heading South from Portland and should be ready to stop South of Cave Junction but before the California State Line. Showers would be a good item to include.

Thanks

John

Hi John, I'm doing the same thing. I have a reservation for Wednesday night, the 25th, at a place called Panther Flat. Since we are now able to get into the grove on Wednesday, I'm thinking about pushing through. When are you leaving? I would be happy to let you have my spot if I don't use it, but I might not know until early Wednesday afternoon. Or we could share if they will let us have two tears in one spot. I already reserved for two vehicles, but my friends(in a tent) had to cancel.
Let me know what you think. Panther flat is just a bit across the border and I think under Reserveamerica.
And they have showers.
