Mid fall would be good, could be a fire concern with the Rangers though.

That would seem to make the "rustic" parks less desirable, esp if Matt is "hauling a full load of DO iron."

Spamboree VII or another number is scheduled for Oct 13-14 weekend and I will not be missing that one. And two weeks later I am off to something else.

I believe there are a few small rallies the last weekend of Sept. I will look up all I can find and post them.

I just added Spamboree to the Calender. It might be easier to select a date if all the rallies already scheduled are posted there.

I like the idea orf a camp out down there but not a state park. It is tooo hard to get reservations in a state park. At a private campground yu can reserve the spaces and know you have them. Trying to make reservations with the state is hard enough with out trying to get us close together.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

I'm in. Let us know. I would prefer a beach area. Heat, poison oak and dirt just don't do it for us. For some reason, 1/2 the state parks on the Central Coast are carved out of the thickest patches of poison oak you've ever seen. I agree that a private campground would prolly be best for a large group as proposed. The beach sites are hard to get and getting a group site would be even harder. I believe Morro has a group site, but there are restrictions on vehicles and trailers usually. Thanks for taking the initiative.

Fornesto,
The sights that have been suggested are not hot and I don't think there is poison oak around. Once a sight has been chosen I can go up and check for poison oak. El Chorro Regional Park can get hot now that I think of it.

If we want to reserve a group campground Morro Bay State Park has two, side by side, with a total capacity for 60 people and 26 vehicles. The Chorro group site has maximum capacity of 35 people and 15 vehicles, trailers can be up to 36' long. The Osos group site has with a max. of 25 people, 11 vehicles, and trailers up to 18' long. The cost for reserving them needs to be looked into. Couldn't find it on Reserve America's web site.

They're located beyond the main campground several hundred feet up a dead end gravel and dirt road. Tall trees surrounding most of the area provide some shade, wind protection and privacy. The camp sites slope gently. The lower side has a tree filtered view of the bay.

They have newly built bathrooms and showers with outside lighting, picnic tables, and BBQ areas. A concrete slab, maybe 15' square, with a fire ring in the center looks like it'd be good spot for Dutch Oven cooking. There's no outside electric service to tap into. There's one outside water faucet. About half the area has logs on the ground to keep vehicles out. Most of the picnic tables are inside the logged off areas. Our trailer camping would be in the sandy dirt parking areas.

It seems to me, a TD gathering newbie, that MBSP's group camp sites could be a good spot for a TD&DO gathering.
