Hi Joanne,
We plan to arrive on the 30th (Sunday) and our site #43 is in the Furnace Creek campground with everyone else. Looking forward to meeting you. I grew up in Las Vegas.

Hey Everyone!

So sorry, but I am minutes/days away from cancelling my trip to Death Valley. I've been expecting this, being a bit too extended in all my resources: time, money, energy, blah blah blah, but I also got roped into working on New Years Eve, which makes it very difficult to be there as well.

I am disappointed not to be seeing new friends, old friends and anybody else that might show up!!

I will wait a few days before cancelling my Res. for space #51. If anybody wants to take it off my hands, I have a res for fri, sat, sun and mon nites all paid for (I think???) so send me a pm and let me know if you're interested. Otherwise I will just cancel thru the internet and there will be one more space available. whatever works, i hope someone can grab the space.

Come New Years, I will find myself at home, all alone, sitting under a blanket with a glass of flat champagne and poptarts, celebrating all alone and wishing I was under the night skies of death valley, whooping it up with all the teardroppers!

Joanne, thank you for organizing this hopefully annual event, and next year I will have to plan in advance so I can make it. I think the recent trips to Moab and Hawaii have done me in!

I'm still planning on being there. Will be keeping my camping options open but probably staying at Texas Spring for a couple days around New Years. I'm not interested in potlucks or waffles but do look forward to meeting fellow teardropers. For a few days before and after I'll be camping somewhere in the area and doing some motorcycle riding.

Hi Sue,

Sorry to hear about the change in plans! We would have loved to see you there. I certainly understand about getting over-extended. Every time I take a trip I have to hold my breath to make certain I can pay the next month's rent....

I wouldn't mind it being an annual event, but I'll have to wait until it's over and get some feedback. I jumped on my bike a few weeks ago and headed down to look around at the campground. It's not bad considering that it's a dry lake bed. Still, I'm sure we'll have a good time.

See you down the road at another gathering!
