The Great Basin Tearjerkers will hold thier first gathering on May 8-9-10 at the Willow Creek Campground, in Willard Bay S.P. Thier are no hook-ups in this campground. The cost is $16.00 per night. there are fire rings, and dogs must be on a leash, and can't play in the lake, (seems a bit unfair to me). I have reserved space #36 for myself. I believe the joining of the rails Reenactment will be on Sunday. Fishing License for non-residents is $12.00 a day or $32.00 a week. Jim G

A good link for the Willard Bay State Park near Ogden is:
http://stateparks.utah.gov/stateparks/parks/willard-bay

It probably needs checking as we get closer to the event, but the Golden Spike National Monument still has the ceremony listed for Sunday, May 10th on their website.

Bring those teardrops out and join us.

I don't see any way that I can get away for this one but would like to if possible, just for the nostalgia. This is the campground we spent our very first night in a teardrop in 2001.

I know the index doesn't show the Great Basin Tearjerkers Chapter yet, but we are up and running. I finelly got to see another Teardrop Trailer, Jim B's Butthut and another homebuilt, by Randy..Karen won the best breakfast award the first morning (steak and eggs) she is somewhat shy, and would not let me take her picture, but Randy made us cast iron waffles, on the second morning. The pelicans kept trying to steal the bait off the fishing lines. It was Great... Jim G

Now I wish I would have been there. My Saturday was very busy as I thought it would be. Next time I will make it for sure. So, wasn't it hard on your teeth eating those "cast iron waffles"?

I knew what you meant! Glad you all had a great time.

NAH,,it might be for most people, but not for teardropers. Besides Randy seasoned them well.
