Originally we went in the spring. Had a good time and decided to go again in the fall. I'd imagine that it will go the same way this next year...a spring and fall thing. Doug

Spring Glyphs

Postby danlott » Wed Oct 14, 2009 4:59 pm

Instead of calling it the:

2nd Annual Gathering at the 'Glyphs - Honoring the Ancestors

You could call it the:

3rd Bi-Annual Gathering at the 'Glyphs - Honoring the Ancestors

I really enjoyed the last gathering, but due to family and Easter weekend I don't believe I will ever be able to attend the spring gathering.

It is what it is, Dan ... ;) ...!

No doubt it'll get shortened down to Spring At the 'Glyphs and Fall At The 'Glyphs for general reference ... but the Spring event will remain the Annual Gathering, Honoring the Ancestors, and the Fall event will remain the 'Glyphs II/'Glyphs Waha'yoo ...!

We know that not everyone who would consider this Gathering will be able to (or even want to) attend both events, but this way you get to choose which season you want to experience, too ... :D ...! Apparently, there are several of us that like the place well enough to give it a shot twice a year. Hell, in a perfect world, I'd want to live in Austin year 'round ... but everybody already knows I'm not your typical Teardropper ... right ... ...?

This "Honoring of the Ancestors" you speak of... is it Grant's and Gage's birthdays? What?

Gage....the temps/weather were pretty much typical of the season when we were there both times. If you go in the spring, plan on cooler temps and light snow possibly, if you go in the fall, bring a fly swatter....Doug

Captian Jack was the only cardboard figure that I had. RRR-RRR

We may have to change the date (again.HA-HA) to the weekend of National Race Car Driver Day. ZOOM-ZOOM (I do not think that the BLM would like the thought of a bunch of Teardrop Trailers raceing around the campground circle.)

:vroom: Circleing of the Tears at Ancestor Raceway. :vroom:

Do to that I have a lot of life size cardboard race car drivers.
(But I will not be burning any of them do to some of them are worth a few bucks)
Captian Jack was a different story he just looked out of place with all of my race car drivers, So he had to go.
