Postby dhazard » Tue May 04, 2010 4:58 pm

It looks like I fogot to post this... :o

May 21-23, 2010 Ocean Cove, CALIFORNIA
TearJerkers' Nor-Cal Chapter's 3rd Ocean Cove Campout at Ocean Cove Campgrounds, 18 miles north of Jenner (at the mouth of the Russian River) on Hwy 1 on the spectacular Northern California Coast! Escape the humdrum & madness and take that long & winding road less traveled to one of the nicest campgrounds on the north coast, perched on a knoll among the trees and just above the cove where some of the best abalone diving in CA can be found. Chapter Director & Host Dan Hazard will be diving and guiding any other interested campers/divers. E-mail Dan for more info & reservations: [email protected]

Do I need to make reservations?

I'm assuming that I would need an abalone license, and no Scuba tanks, just free diving?

Anyone caravaning from the south of San Francisco?

Reservations are not required, just pay at the gate. It is $20.00 a night.
If you want to dive you must have all the usual free drive gear, abalone bar, 7â€

Are there a lot of people attending?

I Scuba, so I think I'll sit out the Abalone diving.

I'd love to attend one time Dan but will be up in the area the following weekend at Casini Ranch for Memorial Day weekend. Really wanted to make it to the Dam Gathering but some family stuff came up.

Maybe next year.

Hi MadDane, The 1st gathering had about 10 trailers request spots and one showed. The second one had about 10 reposes and about 25 trailers showed. This one has had about 15 emails for spots. I have no Idea how many will show…

Bring your dive gear, you never know what the conditions will be. I will probably bring a 14’ inflatable and my tanks. I would love to do a few dive to just look around.

Hi Doug H, go for it. No reason that you can’t camp 2 weeks in a row...

Regards Dan H
