It was so good to see everyone out there! Thanks again for the Mountain Man breakfast. Awesome pics Sue! I love the one of the entire camp. Our virgin friends had a blast and can't wait to come back. In fact, I think BM is haunting them. :R

I just got back from a cool and rainy camp trip to Lower Blue Lake this weekend. Fall is here.

Hey Christina

I came down with bronchitis a few days after getting back. I hate that crap. And BM has been haunting me for sure. I have very few dreams that are not BM related. Wait, that sounds kind of bad. Burning Man related. Thats better. I have decided that a goal I have is to have my 70th birthday there in 2020. Mark your calanders.

I got a nice water jug/cooler at an estate sale last week. Getting ready for next year. Haven't found any lingerie I like yet. But I am looking

Starts today???? I guess this traveling about is getting to me. Been on the road for a week now and at least one more day to home. No teardrop or camping. :(

No chef pants. Or lingerie, yet. Have picked up two, two gallon water coolers and I am making an insulated box to put my large ice chest in. 2 more inches of foam. Will not have to chase the shade with that. If it works out.

I have a feeling I'd get in serious trouble if I told my wife I'm going to camp with a bunch of ladies..., so Randy, you'll have to tough this one out without me.

Ok, why is it the guys are afraid to go?

No law says you have to leave the wife out of the experience.

Well, I took the plunge and registered for tickets. My kids think I am crazy, and, for once, they are right.

Welcome to the nut house.

I can guarantee, it will be something completely different.

Be sure to read the survival guides. I do not know you or your back ground but when reading the guides keep in mind they are written for a whacked out New Your City teenager with all the commonsense of a zucchini.

Dear Randy,

The description "a whacked out New Your City teenager with all the commonsense of a zucchini" fits. LOL

I thought we camped together at the Glyphs.

WE might have, I can't remember a Guy. If you camped at the Glyphs you about 1/2 way to being prepared for The Burn.

Plenty of water, We had to much last year but it was cooler than usual. A way to carry waste water home. Bring some shade if you can. People complain about the "white outs" and bring googles and dusts masks. I don't know, might be handy but I grew up farming and have eaten my share of dust. But Burning Man's dust is playa dust, very fine and high salts. Last year was not to windy and I never felt the need for googles and masks. But, that was last year.

One thing you will want is a bicycle. One with the fattest tires you can get. Don't worry about to many gears. YOu will need 2, slow and slower. I would put a light on front and rear. The playa is flat but with cracks about ever 6 inches so it is rough, and there is the dust piles that form in the streets.

If you been to the glyphs then we have met as I have been to them all.

:D

I just can't place a face or trailer with the nick name. Which is rather common for me

So, I have made myself the promise that if I survive my next surgery I will go to Burning Man this year.

Is the teardrop camp an invitation thing or open to everyone?

I understand that you can't buy anything but ice there....what sort of things should I bring to trade?

Speedy recovery Blotto. The teardrop camp is not really an invitational only thing. I got in.

I would say it is more Sue's thing but she will probably loudly disagree. Have you been reading the web sight and keeping up on how to buy tickets this year? Get on the email list for the Jack Rabbit Speaks.

You can only buy ice there, and some coffee and that at center camp, bring your own mug. You only need to bring yourself. Should not even think of it as bartering as much as a gifting society. I made some wooden pendants and bottle openers. One guy serenaded the porta pots near us most mornings. He sang and play guitar for the better part of 2 hours. And he was pretty dern good.
