A bicycle i ordered got here today and i have been losing weight this past month without it. Took the bike out for a little spin, knees did not work right when I got off but I did manage to stay standing.

Burning Man has given me the push to finally start getting some weight off. Hope I do not fall off the wagon, or bicycle as the case may be.

Hey Randy, that's great! But it seems like you would always be turning to the left due the wind resistance on that side caused by the beard.

Randy, many people claim Burningman has changed their life. You're a great example of this, even months before you go to BM!!

Keep up the riding, you will be thankful for it and being in good cycling shape when you ride across the playa in a duststorm!
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

We were supposed to go camping this weekend, snow level here: 500' Had enough of that at the Glyphs the first year... :o

Sue, Riding a bike in a desert dust storm would certainly change my life to: "I ain't never going back there again...:

Hanging out with that many people is not my idea of a good time, but if going to Burning Man gets one on a bike and to eat better, that beats the heck out of other motivators, like a heart attack!

It snowed about 4 inches last night. I don't think it will all melt today.

Normally I don't like large crowds either, I do not like cities and really there is no city that I want to visit just because it is there. I might go for some event or something. Some event like BM.

I can always retreat to the camp and read or something.

Dang you missed the real Glyphs experience April 2010.

So I heard... We were in AZ just down the hill from Sedona that weekend. Snowed on us in Sedona but not lower down where we camped, and it wasn't 11 degrees either:

Randy...keep an eyeball on your bike...it's kinda one of those things that someone figures I'll just go for a spin on it and it might end up being a community ride. From what I hear...it's happened there before. Doug

Woooo Hooooo

Last weekend i picked up a cheap scale. Weighed in again this morning and by that scale I am down 4-5 pounds. Not sure how much over all but I think I have lost at least 15 pounds over all.

Then I dug out my supply of to small Levis and I can now wear the next size smaller, with ease.

8)

Not that I will ever get the nickname of String bean but going in the right direction.

With all the snow we've been getting. I'm not thinking of teardropping at all :o

Sue. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Writing something for her at the Temple would be wonderful. It's such a calm, nice place in the midst of the chaos and I always start to cry when I see all the notes and alters for those who have passed.

So, how many are interested in a TD camp? Being by VW Bus Camp would be great. They are really nice and have a great bar too! This year, Harry and I will have two virgins with us, so he may come out on Monday or Tuesday to set up our camp while I bring out the newbies on Wednesday. They will have to be properly initiated.

Here are a few camp name suggestions:

Teardrops are Not RVs Camp
Yes, We Sleep in Them Camp
Tiny Tears Camp

thanks Christina

It is snowing here right now. Not to terribly cold but still.............

Camping by a VW camp would be right up my ally I have a small junk yard of VWs and enjoy working on the wee beasties. And my Teardrop has VW parts in it.

This month has been a busy one for me, with some family issues, lots of work, and lots of rain.

I find I'm starting to have glimmers of "Burningman!" in my random thoughts, so that is a good sign for me.

Christina, I think camping near VW Camp sounds good to me. I find it hard to make decisions these days, and have no compelling reason to go anywhere else. Do you think we need to try and register as a theme camp to get the space, or just show up and hope for the best?

I'm liking the name Yes We Sleep in Them Camp too! (see bold type above)

Current list of likely suspects:

Sue
Shelly
Randy
Christina

Anyone else chime in and I'll edit the list...eventually

Okay I just checked this out and not sure that I can handle doing this, so I think we'll go with the plan of: show up and hope for the best!!

http://www.burningman.com/themecamps/2011_layout.html

However, it does give us some guidelines (especially for newcomers) as to how to set up a group camp....this is something most teardroppers do easily, but this is a different type of setting.

okay this exhausted me. all for now.
