That stretch does look better than parts of Route 66 we drove down last year. Was my trailer really airborne when I passed that RV?...

I'd rather be camping.

Airborne? Someone told me that I set a new altitude record when I passed that RV. That's probably when I broke my hatch. :o And yes the back way to Parker thru Twentynine Palms is a much smoother road. It's even smoother than Hwy 40.

I'm wondering how many will bring a boat or two. I'm looking forward to paddling in the Colorado.

I'll probably bring a 12-foot canoe and a 16-foot kayak. Hope others will join me on the river.

Water toys

Postby Carol Reed » Thu Nov 17, 2011 11:10 pm

IF I manage to find a good deal on Black Friday, I will bring one. Otherwise I will have to wait until next year for that adventure.
See you all soon !! Two weeks.....

No jury duty for David.

We were out of town for Thanksgiving and just got home today, so we have 2 days to get ourselves together before Thursday. I don't think we will be too decked out, but as long as we have the basics I will be happy.

Looking forward to kicking back and relaxing and seeing everyone.
Martha ;)

No Boat

Postby mkitchen » Tue Nov 29, 2011 11:28 am

We don't have a boat, but we would like to get one some day, but we are bringing our tandem bicycle. Hopefully we can get out and do the loop around the river.
We just got back from a four day trip in Death Valley and now we need to get the TD ready for this weekend. Boy Howdy, this work stuff sure is cutting into my free time.
Looking forward to meeting all of you folks for the first time.
