We ended up delaying our departure by a day.

After listening to the radio this morning and looking on the internet to the winds conditions it sounded a bit scary for driving. It seemed wiser to head out on Friday and avoid hazardous driving. I certainly hope tomorrow is somewhat calmer as our goal is to leave very early.

I called the reservation center to let them know of our delay and said Buckskin is supposed to be experiencing high winds.

What bad timing for high winds.

For anyone living in areas especially hard hit, I hope all is ok.

Wednesday night was pretty bad Thursday night it rained all night. Other than that it was a great turn out with a very good pot luck. Martha made it safely and should be back home shortly. We had 58 trailers and 2 motorhomes for a total of 60 units. Two early teardrops left Thursday morning because the winds the previous night. Some stayed over an extra night because Sunday turned out to be sunny and beautiful. I will post pics later.

We made it back safe and sound and didn't hit really any wind at all coming back or going for that matter.

Our only hassle was having a flat tire on the truck on the way home.

It was fun to meet new campers and catch up with old friends.

Thanks all for another great outing !!! It was great seeing old faces, and good to make new acquaintances.

Gage - It was great to see you out joining us !! See you at IRG, if not before.

Bud - You are looking good after your ordeal. Keep it up. Hope to see you again real soon.

Just to let you all know, reservations can be made up to a year in advance. Some have already grabbed their favorite spot for 2012. I hope to see you all there !!

Next year I presume the dates would be Fri Nov 30 though Dec 2 unless one come earlier or stays later?

Wouldn't want to make an early reservation for the wrong date.

I have the same assumption for 2012.

It was Bud who told me that they were taking the reservations. Then the guy at the front said that they take reservations "up to a year in advance"; the following weekend would have still been over a year. It is my understanding that this event is always the "first weekend" in December.

So all this being said, I am planning to venture down there on Thursday, Nov. 29th. See you there !!!
