How about a teardrop display at Cabelas in Reno?

I have been in contact with the event manager in Reno and he is interested in having a teardrop display at an upcoming event. He suggested May 5-6, which camping weekend for them, but it is the Dam Gathering, so that is out, or Aug 18-19 or the next weekend Aug 25-26. I am committed on the 25-26 so that leaves the 18-19. Anyone interested? Would you want to do one day or two? There is a RV park on site in association with Boomtown. I would like to get a feel for what folks would want and if there is enough interest before I have a phone conversation with him later this week. Let me know! I also suggested a display of antique Coleman stuff, as Shaun had suggested in the past.

I would make sure that you don't tell them what happened at Cabelas in Phoenix last year on the Route 66 run to Cabelas, I don't think AZ Tear Jerkers got invited back this past year (couple of the old boys enjoyed a few, which would have been fine in a camp ground, but not at Cabelas. Wasn't a real problem until one of the guys fell asleep in his chair and landed face first into the concrete. Was in a neck brace for a couple of months).

I do have to say it was fun giving the tours and talking with folks about building their own TD, we had several folks that were real interested and took notes. We camped right there in front of the store, which was fine until 4:am when the guy came by with the parking lot sweeper. Just had to use the store's restroom at 8:50 before they closed and the restaurant across the parking lot was open at 6:am, and we ate there so it wasn't like the homeless sneaking in to use the restroom (Ok, we were the homeless sneaking in to use the restroom...)

Ah ha, so that's why I didn't hear anything about it this year. I won't suggest talking to the folks in Glendate then.

we would love to be part of it we had so much fun at the last one. we would really have to think about it since it is so far away for us. the 18-19 would work for us if we were be able to go. we will be at hurkey creek the weekend before for a gathering so that may be our limiting factor. good luck. i hope it works out for the teardroppers.

How about the weekend before IRG, and then you could catch people (like me....) enroute to the Redwoods ??
Last one, I visited Tahoe and Cabelas on the way home, and spotted another tear in the parking lot. (No, my tear was not there, but parked in Tahoe.)
