Cabela's in Reno, with pics.

We had a great time at cabela's yesterday, 7 trailer, all home built. Great opportunity for both builders to show their wares and for locals to met and greet. Participating besides us were Johnny and terry (down under tech), joe and Leslie from vacations in a can, glen and Shelly (ol hicroynut campers), Mel and rob ( shellymooner) and jonny's friend Leroy his wife and son Jeff. Other forum members Dave (dmcam), Mel (atahoekid), Dan ( danlott) Shaun (high desert) and mike ( nmsu85). All came down and talked shop for a while. Cabela's was very busy and we gad a HUGE amount of interest. The weather cooperated and it wasn't too hot. They have already asked us to return in march. All in all a successful outing. I expect to see some new members soon both here and on tearjerkers.

Leroy on the right, and dave

Hard to get good pics of the trailers, always folks looking at them, blocking my view! I know Johnny, joe and Dave took pics. I hope they will post too.

Debbie, thanks again for putting yesterdays show together. We had a great time meeting so many friends in person for the first time. And getting to see everyone's trailers was great, they was a very good cross section of styles for the size of the group. Lorri is now Officially hooked (nothing like seeing them in person), it's all she talked about the rest of the day lol. Thanks! :applause:

btw, she actually brought up selling our Wilderness TT to help finance the build. She was completely opposed to that idea until yesterday.

Glad to hear they asked for a repeat performance too, very cool. 8)

Shaun, glad to see we hooked her! You are right, and as Dave says, nothing like getting inside one to hook you. Randy and I were wondering if you ere going to spend today 1) cleaning out the garage or 2) designing the tear in the living room! the good news is if you sell the tt, it will bring more than the teardrop will cost. Go forth and make sawdust!

There were so many people the first several hours, I had to wait until the crowds drpped off to take pics!

Harry had an Audubon board meeting yesterday afternoon that kept us from bringing our teardrop down to visit. We would've wrecked your all-homebuilt streak, though... maybe next time?

Hi Debbie (and Randy too), Thank you so much organizing and hosting the Cablea's event; it was wonderful!!! :applause: :applause: :applause: Great folks and conversations. It was especially good to finally meet so many of our Northern Nevada Teardrop friends in person. Shaun & Lorri, Johnny & Terry, Mel & Rob, Dan and His family, and of course all the other fine folks you mentioned too. I took only a few pictures as I was too busy flappin' my lips. Here they are.

What a nice representation of what homebuilt trailers can be like...all are beautiful rigs!

Hopefully the show will inspire others to make their own custom trailer and get out and camp! There is so much to be said for the teardrop way of camping. Living large in a small space in the great outdoors!

OK: It's my turn... Here are the pictures I took Saturday while at Cabela's.

Rob & Mel's Shelleymooner

Image

Randy & Debbie"s Monstero

Image

Image

Joe's Vacations in a Can.

Image

Joe is a little camera shy...

Leroy & Wendy's Route 66 3/4" steel framed teardrop.

Image

Dave, Leroy & Shaun

Image

Glen's Creation... Does anyone want to buy one? Tell them Johnny sent you. Maybe I can get a finders fee?

Image

Terry and Wendy exchanging camping recipes by the Silver Nugget.

The faux tin ceiling inside of our teardrop was a hit.

I met Rob & Mel, Dave McCam, Dan Lott, High Desert Shaun, Mel (atahoekid) and we saw Shaun Murray (1957 Teardrop Refurbished in Reno) there. I was very glad to met you all. I hope I did not forget anyone. If I did, send me a PM and I will clear this up.

There were so many great teardrop trailers and their owners there. We had a great time.
I can't wait until next March for the next show... we are in.:D
