Postby Rhino Ray » Thu Jan 23, 2014 11:10 pm

Jefferson State Chapter TearJerkers’ 21st Dam Gathering of the Tears at Antlers RV Park & Campgrounds, now an official JSC TearJerkers event, our great times with great people and great trailers (all are welcome!) just keeps rollin’ along! No registration, but you can make reservations through Antlers Call them at 800-642-6849 to reserve a spot if you haven't yet ( http://www.antlersrvpark.com ) or just show up (there’s plenty of room!), Pinewood Gravity Races, Potlucks & Camp fires all nights, T-shirts & dash-plaques by Ray Perry (pre-order info soon), all the fun we’re known for but now without all the production ... just come on out, socialize, and have FUN! More info from [email protected] or by calling 530-242-6452. I have checked with Antlers and they still have plenty of room and more reservations are coming in regularly.

This is promising to be a great time. :D

Re: 21st Dam Gathering of the Tears, May 1-4, 2014

Postby Roly Nelson » Wed Apr 16, 2014 2:04 am

I drove 700 miles to the 10th Dam Gathering, and what a blast it was. Until that time, I had never met another teardropper, and I was welcomed at Shasta by all, with open arms. Since them, I have attended Shasta as often as i can, and will be there again this year, attending with another one of my "thinking-out-of-the-box" teardrop trailers. This one has no woody sides, no doors, no openable windows, no alum roof or sides, has probably the best view of the the night-time stars, of any teardrop. It has no squae corners, or curved surfaces, is the most areodymanic design ever designed, (and this is an undisputed fact), has a 7 foot bed, with a 4 foot wide comfortable mattress, (in the event there are some lonely, 80 year-old chicks, wanting a quiet, comfortable place to read cookbooks, compose letters to their great-grand-kids, or send love letters to other old timers, in fearless comfort).

This rig, has and a full-blown, hidden galley hatch, conceaing the hidden, eye-ball high cabinets, and knee-high pot and pan storage compartments, which no one knows are there. This year, I am looking forward to touching bases with many of my friends, that I have met over the years, and meeting other new friends who share the same interests as I do. Since none of us know how much longer our candle will burn, we gotta take advantage of these opprotunities as ofen as they exist. There is just something special about teardrop trailer folks, always friendly, never judgemental and oh so helpful.

If you have never attended the Shasta experience, you don't know what you are missing. Campers are scattered as remote as they choose, some are back to back, sharing the same table with friends, others, choosing to select more remote camp sites, scattered in the secluded woods, under the shade trees and moon light. Every campsite is unique, busy with friends, or quietly secluded, you choose. We all wander about, checking out the unique trailers, and are always greeted with smiles and open conversaton.

Shasta is special, attend it if you can, you will never regret it and you will make so many friends, you will lose count.

I agree with Roly!
We can't wait to get there to see the friends we made last year at our first Dam Gathering!
And Roly tops that list!
8 more sleeps before we leave. :applause:

I wouldn't miss it for anything. I won't have my teardrop this year because of back issues, but I'll be there.

Planning on driving on up trailer in tow. Still trying to get in touch with Antlers, but no prob if I can't get in as I will just continue on up to visit my daughter in Portland. I had a great time at Perris (14 hours on the road) so 4hrs to Shasta should be easy... Have family stuff on the first, but plan on leaving the northbay early Fri morning... and with only 2 casinos on the way (you know, for the free coffee and clean restrooms) we should reach Antlers around noon.
