Well I have a site reserved but won't know for sure until one or two days before because of my health condition. I’m not dealing with the cold all that well either and that will have a bearing on my decision to go or not. If I don’t go, it will be the first time I’ve missed that gathering sense the very first one in 2006 (Arizona State Parks celebrating their 50TH Anniversary)

Kay and I will not be making it this year ... just too much going on, and I can't be away from my aging father that long anymore! If what Eddie says is true, this year will be warm & sunny, since last year was cold & windy, so we will be doubly missing the event ... ...!

Anyway, y'All have fun ... and think of us while you are out and paddling on the River ... ...!

CHEERS!

p.s. - Gage, we're keeping good thoughts so your health and the weather both combine in your favor ... we know how much this event means to you and Tanya!

Mo and I are certainly looking forward to the meet up. She is going to come down on Thursday and I hope to get off Friday night so I can get down there in time for the weekend.

You mean a cattle call like last year or was it a stampede? They acted like they had never been to a ‘pot luck’ before and started the line moving before all the food was on the table. I guess they just felt that they wouldn’t get anything to eat. Then most filled their plates with more than they could eat and threw the rest away. :x I just had to say it.

For you newbes and first timers that read this that don't know me, I was the guy sitting in the black Ford Edge. I just may take my cherry pie and go into town and eat at the Cross Roads Cafe.

Hey, now, Gage!

That's pretty unkind ... ,,,! Perhaps you've forgotten that because of the cold weather, last year, that a decision was made to move the time up on the potluck, and that there was considerable confusion over that because of the wacky time issues you get to experience in that Park. A lot of folks spend a lot of time, effort, and money to prepare delicious food for their fellow campers, and would like said fellow campers to enjoy that food while it is still HOT! As well, with some of the food coming in later, the folks at the end of the line did get some hot food.

It was frickin' cold, last year (and it was clear that most folks were not prepared for that!) ... no one was in the mood to hang around and freeze while their food got cold ... [b][i]or follow ONE line when there was clearly room for two, again so we could eat our food while it was relatively warm. It wasn't the best situation, and we did the best we could under the circumstances, so let's not be so critical, O.K. ... ...?

With regards to people piling their plates and throwing so much away, well, that's a perennial problem that can only be solved by practicing and encouraging thoughtfulness. Come to think of it, that would make a whole lot of things, everywhere, better ...
