Buttonwillow Racing Events for 2015

Postby Midget » Sun Apr 05, 2015 10:32 am

April 25-26 is the Vintage Auto Racing Associations "British Extravaganza" weekend. The group celebrates British marques like Austin Healey, Triumph, MG, Mini, Morgan and others in feature races. They also feature a pre war group which is always great to see. Not only are they running on the track but you can check them out in the paddock area and talk with the drivers/owners.

Here's a link to their page

We have some friends coming to camp with us and we invite anyone else who's interested to come out. We'll set up a mini camp next to the track on turn 11 (Sunset turn). The cost is $10 per person for the whole weekend with unlimited access anywhere at the track. There are flush toilets and showers are available.

We will be arriving mid day Friday for a great weekend of vintage racing. Let us know if your interested in joining us.

With the summer heat bearing down, our trips to the race track will take a hiatus until September. Next up is:

Vintage Auto Racing Association
Oktoberfest - Celebrating the German cars. Porsche, BMW, Volkswagen.....
September 5-6.
It may be a little warm so we'll be playing it by ear. Friday afternoon arrival to set up camp.
$10 per person at the gate for the whole weekend.

California Sports Car Club (SCCA)
Double Divisional Race to qualify for the runoffs
September 12-13
May be warm again so we'll play it by ear.
Free entry and camping for the entire weekend.

American Federation of Motorcycles
October 24-25
Weather is perfect and we will be attending unless something gets in the way
$10 per person for the entire weekend.

If you are interested in camping with us, let me know. we'll get a circle going along the fence line. We normally arrive mid day Friday.

Are you ready for some racing?

Just a few weeks away. The first weekend in September is the Vintage Auto Racing Association's Octoberfest. Okay it's in September but what the heck. We'll be heading down on Friday the 4th to set up camp. PM me if your interested in going and I'll give you directions. This one is $10 per person at the gate.

The following weekend is the SCCA races. Come on out and watch the spec Miata class run. There's a reason they call it Japanese Nascar. This one is free for the whole weekend. No bargain better than that. Come enjoy a fun weekend with the best seats in the house.

See you there!

Last race of the season. American Federation of Motorcycles will be racing at Buttonwillow the weekend of Oct 24-25. We'll be heading down for the event on Friday afternoon and as usual invite anyone else who would like to go. It's $10 per person at the gate. If you're planning on coming out, PM me for directions to our camp area.

This will be our last invite as I have been posting here for three years and no one has ever joined us. We'll continue to go as we enjoy the time there. If you have ever thought about it, look up the calendar of events on the Buttonwillow Raceway park website for 2016 race dates.
