Fall Finale in the Feather River Canyon

Planning a Fall Finale Campout in the Feather River Canyon the weekend of October 23-25. WE will be going...it's our 30th!! anniversary! Thought we'd invite our teardrop friends to join us. The canyon is legendary for it's fall colors...the North Fork campground at Caribou off Hwy 70 was redone last year with showers etc. Several sites have electricity. All the sites are right on the creek. The weather should be crisp at night but pleasant during the day. Sites are $23 night. I spoke to the Management company today; we could have the campground to ourselves! He loves teardrops and supports the idea.

More details to come soon. We will likely do a potluck on Sat... We'll provide meat...ribs? Hope you join us!

Haven't been in that area since the 70's - sounds like a fun trip. Will see if we can work out some intermediate stops to get there, just got evacuated from the Sequoia's due to the Rough Fire.
The site shows it closing on the 19th, will there still be electric and water? Just checking so we can plan.

Yes! I spoke to the regional mgr and he assured me they will remain open for us. There are no reservations. Seven of the 21 sites have electric hookups for an addl $7/night. There are not water hookups at ea site, just spigots throughout.

Kay & I visited North Fork CG on the first leg of our honeymoon, back in mid-August ... it seemed like a really nice place that we would enjoy staying at some later date (we were camped up-river in Twain). We'd probably come to this event, but we will have just returned from the Reef Madness gig in UT, and I'll be in Sutter Creek that weekend at the West Coast Crosley Meet, trying to sell off a bunch of projects and un-needed stuff!

Looking like a gathering! There are a couple more folks from over over on Facebook that are planning on coming.

Don't let the thought of some cool evenings keep you from heading up! The average temp for that weekend is 77/44. There'll be plenty of wood for campfires!

It was,great camping next to you at Treasure Island. Count me in for the fall finale. I may have the teardrop or if we get our canned ham campable i will bring it.

TI was was awesome and several of those folks are on board for this trip including Don, John & Mary and Carol as well as Joe & Leslie. There are a few Tenters joining us also so it should be a lot of fun!
