TEAR JERKERS ARIZONA SPRING CLEAN GATHERING
MARCH 3 -6, 2016

Time to shake out those CABIN FEVER BLUES and no better way than gathering together with a bunch of like minded folks in teardrop or vintage travel trailers. This will be our fourth shot at putting together a Tear Jerker event. So here is all the information needed to get prepared for the Spring Clean, 2016.

Date: March 3 through 6, 2016
Location: Lost Dutchman State Park, 6109 N Apache Trail, Apache Junction AZ
Directions: From 60, go north at Idaho Rd, which becomes Apache Trail and follow to the state park
Camp Fees: $17.00 per night and can be paid at the gate
Campground contact info: http://azstateparks.com/Parks/loDU/index.html

We will be at the group camp site. There are no individual plug-ins however there is power at the ramada if you need to charge any appliances, water is available at the ramada too. There is also newly built bathrooms with showers. We will have coffee for everyone in the mornings, a fire to take care of any early morning chill or evening coolness. Saturday will be a pot luck at 5:00 pm. I will be posting additional information as we get closer however if anyone has any questions please feel free to post up. As I said earlier, this is our fourth organized event (and I use the term organized very loosely) and we welcome any suggestions or ideas. Any questions can be directed to me or Melissa via a PM here.
Till then
Mikey

Hi Mikey, I made reservations this morning, but is there another option for a space? I took an individual space, since there weren't options I could find for a "group site" area, or information online at the AZ state parks site. Is there a different way of doing this, or was it the right way?

If there's a different way of getting a reservation in the group, could someone please post about it & let other people know how it's done?

Thanks, tim

For the group area Mikey made the reservation. For us it is just a matter of showing up and paying at the gate.

As Jim said, the reservation is made and all you have to do is pay when you arrive. I just spoke with the park officials today and that is there preference. If you reserved a site, you are reserving an area away from the gathering. Sorry for the confusion.

Just over a month till the Spring Clean, and I am looking at snow on the ground. I am more than ready to do some camping and see some warmer weather.
Come on Spring!

I have a pretty full calendar for the next couple of months. Are there usually a large number of Teardrops that show up for this event? I have some friends in Phoenix with Teardrops too.

The Spring Clean attracts vintage trailers as well as tear drops but it is a Tear Jerker event and as such, it does gather a lot of tear drops and we would love to have more show up.

Hi Papa Smurf
The reservation is already made and all you have to do is let the ranger at the entrance know that you are a part of the Tear Jerkers group and they will steer you in the right direction. Though the reservation is done and paid for, each trailer attending will be accountable for the cost of camping for however many days they are staying.
See you there.

Well Tim and Jim did a durn nice job of getting Spring Clean recorded for posterity. I am ashamed to say the Mo and I both forgot cameras and even if we did the pictures would not be anywhere near as good as the the above pictures.

I am already looking forward to next year. What a great bunch of people. I also want to thank everyone who donated to help defray the costs of the event that was a big help.
