Weekend in Tucson

Postby noseoil » Tue Mar 21, 2017 8:27 am

Went back up to the "prison camp" campground (about 4800' elevation on Mt. Lemon highway, mile post 7) this weekend. Was in the 90's this past week in town, so it's nice to get up a bit in elevation for cooler temps. A bit dusty & dry now, but a nice area for "dry camping" so bring your own water if you decide to go. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coronad ... ecid=25648

Camp area as seen from the hike, with the road in and a loop at the dead end for trails, lots of walking available
