It is about 80 miles from I-5 to 101 on 20 and takes about 1 1/2 hours without any construction delays.

I'm a glazing contractor by trade with a love for art glass, but commercial glasswork pays the bills... more of it out there to be had.
I tried my hand at larger art glass jobs out of the area and they were an experience of a lifetime, but when I got back... The phone didn't ring for a long time.
My website is currently off line, but I'll soon be relaunching a new and improved version.
Thanks for the compliments, they aren't top notch, but they look OK.
(I discovered that I am no longer able to get my air fed helmet on and have my glasses on at the same time, so there was a lot of guessing going on during the blasting stage)

Cool, I've been etching for a few years as a part time job. My big job every year is a truck show that I sponsor the trophies and sell other stuff at. That's the primary reason I started the teardrop. Here's a photo of the 2006 trophies.

Rob,
The kids and I slept right through it...
I've never felt an earthquake since I moved into this fire station... has enough concrete in the foundation to build 20 houses.
I heard one of the locker doors rattleing in a 5.0 here a couple of years back...
The radio said this morning's quake was a 5.0.
The good thing about this is... I doubt we will be having any moderate to large earthquakes during the IRG.
Joanie would've felt it, but she's up at her summer place in Salyer.
(She has earthquake ears)

The trophies are fine, finished up attaching the bases to them this morning.
I just gotta clean them and bubble wrap them up for the trip out to Pamplin.
Got the briquettes this morning too.
My order of Taylor's Smoked Polish Sausage arrived this morning. (Southern Oregon folks will know what I'm talkin' about)
Let's see... All that's left to do is:
1. Get the bottled water for the cookshack, for those that don't like the water out there. (It's got "that taste" to it)
2. Secure a quiet generator for the cookshack.
3. Set up and do a test run on the hot shower set-up.
4. Buy a big container of mustard for the polish sausage.
5. Do the other million little things that TDN will remind me of later.

Just 7 days away!!!

This is gonna be great!!!

Bill, checking an internet map. It's 95 miles from Williams to Willits across 20.

Have a safe drive. We're going to spend Wednesday night at the KOA in Petaluma. And then go on up from there. A little over 4 hour drive. Simi Valley to Petaluma is about 6 hours.

Have a good day.

if anybody sees this and is heading to the IRG, pass the word on that I will be delayed until friday sometime. since i will have an extra day should be able to get an early start (for me that is...noon!) and make it up there by mid afternoon.

Nothing disastrous (thankfully, given my life lately) just being overrun by the tyranny of the urgent. also hoping one more day to take delivery of some cans of hot water i ordered. doug asked me to bring him some.

looking forwrd to seeing everybody and meeting some new teardroppers.

:D :D sue
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

Sue,
I got your message on my cell phone yesterday, when I made my trip into town and I let everyone know that you'd be arriving sometime on Friday.
I'm on my final run into town and getting ready to drive down to Scotia to pick up the meat for tonight's pit barbeque.
Joanie and I have been a little too busy to take pictures, but it is going great.
We're still waiting for Guy and a few others to show up too...
