Dear All Chefs,

Are there other things that can be made using the premixed (add water only) pancake mixes?

if you have eggs, (even powdered ones) you can make waffles or muffins.
you can add (drained!!!) canned goods and make hoecakes or fritters.

Dear S,

Thank you for the suggestion. I will try that. I also found recipes on the http://www.Krusteaz.com site.

Krusteaz is the BEST! I follow their instructions and 'cakes and waffles turn out perfect!

I've inherited the family waffle iron that my folks got for a wedding presnt in '47. It still has the cord wrapped around the gizmo...covered with thread on the whole cord!

I hope you realize that this thread is about four years old
I guess it doesn't matter really, just pointing it out ;)
Cheers
Paul

As long as the batter isn't that old :?

Would the powdered Krusteaz mix still be good after this long? Not that it ever would have a chance getting that old in my pantry!

Are there any shake and pour (add water only)mix's for waffles? I bought a waffle maker, because that would be a quick and easy breakfast when I take the neices and nephew camping. I bought a box of Krusteaz waffle mix and it takes 3 ingredients(not that 3 ingredients is undoable). It seemed that when mixed per the directions that it was kind of thick so I added a little more water. Any additions that make good waffles, could I put chocolate chips in it?

Add a couple tablespoons of real maple suryp to the (pancake or waffle ) batter.
